Hygroscopic crystal components deteriorate when they are not generally held in sufficiently dry air (or simply a dry purge gasoline). This applies e.g. to KDP and BBO, and in a lesser extent to LBO. It might be beneficial to maintain this kind of crystal at a relatively elevated temperature, which makes it easier to retain it dry.Kingwin Optics del
